Book

•October 27, 2009 • 2 Comments

I’ve decided I’m going to write a book. A fictional book that incorporates my ideals and thoughts into the characters. I hope it works out well! I will definitely be interested in “test readers” once I get started into it, so just get ahold of me or leave me a comment if you are interested. Thanks.

Cici has started her own business called “Simply Stunning Events by Cierra LLC“. We are WAY excited to get things going and get the site completely up. Hopefully everything will go well! Check it out and suggest us to anyone you know in the Salt Lake area getting married!

Light

Someday, hopefully soon, I will write and extensive post on a theory of mine dealing with light. It is mainly philosophical, but great food for thought. At least I think so. Be looking forward for it!

Two Years

•October 6, 2009 • 1 Comment

Tomorrow one of my best friends, Chasen Chamberlain, leaves for two years on a mission to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. I would like to dedicate this post to him.

Chasen has been one of the biggest factors in my life for a long time, and I can truly say he has changed my life more than once. Chasen has always been there for me as a motivator, a shoulder to cry on, a friend to laugh with and so much more. He has always watched out for me and Cici and has kept both of our interests in mind even if we didn’t know it until he said it.

For a long time Chasen has been about caring and helping other people in their lives over his own. He will help someone even if he knows that if they succeed he will be hurt. He has given his money his time and his love to many people in Kanab and outside of it, who I am sure will not forget him easily. He has changed and saved my life many times and is about to change and save many more over the next two years.

I am so glad that I can call you my friend Chasen. Thank you for everything you’ve ever done and for always being there for me whenever I needed it. You’ve been more than any friend could ask from another.

Go get those Brazilians!

Wow

So uh, I’ve been insanely busy since school started and have had no time to blog at all. I’m only taking 14 credit hours but my AWESOME (not) Chemistry class that is 4 credit hours has me going to school 9 hours a week just for that class.

Besides that I’ve got two math classes and a physics class.

On a better note, the U of U decided to grant me in-state tuition like 2 days after I paid the tuition for out of state so now I have to wait for a month before I get my money back. Yay.

Chasen Chamberlain, one of my oldest friends is going on his mission and has come to stay with Cici and I for about a week before we he leaves. We don’t see him again for two years. Sucks :( but I’m glad that he is doing something that he believes in and will better him in a lot of different ways. Good luck man, we love you.

Other than that I work at the U of U library in Inter Library Loan about 20 hours a week which is nice, but sucks because it takes up 4 hours of every week day, but the people are awesome and the job is not a bad one.

I’ll try to keep this a little more updated but I won’t promise a thing.

Unexplained Phenomenon (Updated)

•September 5, 2009 • 1 Comment

Google’s Unexplained Phenomenon sure is a huge hit today. Check out their front page, or if you see this after the 5th of September just click here. After searching around a little bit I found this page and I’m pretty tempted to do it. I’m going to keep searching around and I’ll let you know what I find in this same post but it will have “(Updated)” in the title.

(Updated 20:24 MST)

Google tweeted this: “1.12.12 25.15.21.18 15 1.18.5 2.5.12.15.14.7 20.15 21.19http://twitpic.com/giyxf” which translates into “All your O are belong to us”.

They also released this statement: “We consider the second ‘o’ critical to user recognition of our brand and pronunciation of our name. We are actively looking into the mysterious tweet that has appeared on the Google twitter stream and the disappearance of the “o” on the Google homepage.  We hope to have an update in the coming weeks.”

Warped Tour ‘09

•August 9, 2009 • 1 Comment

Went to Warped Tour yesterday with some friends. It was so much fun! I had gone back in 2006 (I think) and this time was definitely better. I only saw one bad I didn’t like at all (Forever The Sickest Kids) and one band who had good music but pissed me off (Cobra Starship).

After the concert I had the bright idea that Chasen and I should try to find my car by going around a different way cause it would be faster. Well after a few dead ends and a circle that was getting us nowhere we decided to turn back. When we got back around the fair grounds all of a sudden a cop pulled up real fast right next to us… and then another… and then another. We were instructed to sit on the ground and get out our ID. Apparently we were described as the two kids who had committed some crime in the neighborhood we were walking through. One of the cops told us that a man saw us walk by and said, “That’s them I know thats them!” the cop responded with “Are you sure that’s them?” He said, “No but that is definitely them.” (eh?) Well in the end they let us go after we gave them the info they needed and were on our way. It was interesting.

All in all, Warped Tour was a success.

Moving

As I’m sure most of you know, Cici and I are heading up to the great Salt Lake City. Unfortunately we couldn’t keep paying out of state tuition any longer, but we think that this will be for the better.

A few things that I’m going to be sad to leave behind are the great friends I’ve made here, the amazing Optics and Physics programs (don’t let me down U of U) and all the wonderful family I have just a few minutes away.

The house we are moving into is a basement apartment on 500 E for those of you who know your streets in SLC. Its only about 4 miles from the U so I’m hoping I’ll be pretty close to my K-town friends who already go there.

One of the main reasons we left Tucson is its terrible economy and working situation, as in it has none. Neither Cici or I could find a job for anything, so we are hoping that we will have better luck in Tucson Salt Lake City. I’m going to try to get a part-time job working for the BLM and Cici will hopefully find a full-time job that she enjoys. We are looking forward to seeing more of you who live in SLC and more of you who live nearby too!

See you in six days.
